Most BCGs are built to disappear inside the receiver. This one wasn't. A true mil-spec bolt carrier group finished in highly polished mirror chrome — the kind of finish that turns a glass-top build into a centerpiece and makes an ejection port worth looking into. But the finish is the last thing that matters here, not the first.
Underneath the mirror is a full auto profile carrier machined from 8620 tool steel, a C158 bolt, a properly staked 4130 gas key, and a 4140 extractor and cam pin. Every unit is magnetic particle inspected and high pressure tested. Built to true mil-spec dimensions, made in the USA, and rated for full auto duty cycles whether or not your rifle will ever see them.
Why Chrome Actually Matters
Polished chrome isn't only cosmetic. The hard, slick surface reduces friction against the receiver walls, resists carbon adhesion, and wipes clean with far less effort than phosphate. Carbon that would normally bake onto a parkerized carrier tends to lift off chrome with a rag and solvent — which matters a great deal if you run suppressed, run a forced reset trigger, or run high round counts between cleanings.

- Easier cleanup. Carbon fouling releases instead of bonding to the surface.

MPI and HPT — What They Actually Mean
These two acronyms get printed on a lot of listings and explained on almost none of them. High pressure testing means each bolt is fired with an overpressure proof round well beyond normal chamber pressure to confirm it survives worst-case conditions. Magnetic particle inspection then checks that same bolt for microscopic cracks invisible to the eye. A bolt that passes both has been proven, not assumed. Skipping these is where cheap BCGs save money — and where they fail, usually at the bolt lugs.

How forced reset triggers actually work
Polished chrome is a functional finish with a cosmetic benefit. Normal handling, installation and use will produce light surface marks over time; this is expected wear and not a defect. Verify your build's gas system and buffer weight are correctly matched before use.
