Your AR-15's safety selector is a mission-critical control — and if you're running a forced reset trigger or a Super Safety selector system, you need an ambi safety that's as dialed in as the rest of your build. The Odin Works Ambidextrous Modular Safety gives you 8 configurations, both 45° and 90° throw, dual enlarged paddles for left and right-handed operation, and your choice of 8 anodized colors — all machined from 6061 aircraft-grade aluminum in Southern Idaho. 100% USA made. Weighs just 0.35 oz. Installs like mil-spec. Performs like nothing else.

What Makes It Different

Built for Serious AR Builders

  • 8 unique configurations — dual paddle levers on both sides combined with 45° and 90° throw options give you 8 distinct ways to set up your safety. Dial it to your shooting style, your hand size, and your competition or duty requirements.
  • 45° and 90° throw — switchable — reverse the orientation of the selector barrel to switch between 45° and 90° throw. No tools required for the switch. 45° is faster on the draw; 90° is mil-spec standard. You choose.
  • True ambidextrous operation — full-size paddles on both sides mean left-handed and right-handed shooters get the same ergonomic experience. Not an afterthought — designed ambi from the ground up.
  • Enlarged paddles for stress-fire access — under competition clock pressure or in a defensive scenario, the oversized paddle design means you find the safety by feel, every time, without looking down at your rifle.
  • 6061 aircraft-grade aluminum — machined from billet aluminum, not cast. Anodized finish is part of the metal, not a coating on top. Available in 8 colors to match any cerakote or build aesthetic.
  • Mil-spec AR-15 drop-in installation — installs exactly like a standard mil-spec safety selector. Compatible with all AR-15 and AR-9 mil-spec lower receivers. No fitting, no machining.
  • 0.35 oz — lighter than most standard safety selectors. When you're weight-cutting a build, the Odin Works AMS adds function without adding mass.
  • 100% USA made, Southern Idaho — every Odin Works product is designed and manufactured in the United States. Not assembled overseas. Not rebranded imports. American-made precision.

The 8 Configuration System

Your Safety. Your Setup.

The 8 configurations come from the combination of paddle position (4 possible) and throw angle (45° or 90°). Change configurations by repositioning the paddle levers or reversing the selector barrel — no gunsmithing required.

45° Fast Throw Competition / 3-Gun preferred. Fastest safe-to-fire transition.
90° Standard Throw Mil-spec standard. Maximum positive engagement feel.
×4 Paddle Positions Each lever has 4 possible positions to match your grip angle.
×8 Total Configs 4 paddle positions × 2 throw angles = 8 unique setups.
45° vs 90° Throw
45° Fast Throw — Competition

Half the travel distance of standard. Ideal for 3-Gun, competition shooting, and speed-focused builds. Your thumb barely moves — the safety is off. Preferred by most competitive AR shooters running forced reset triggers where follow-up speed is the priority.

90° Standard Throw — Duty / Defensive

Mil-spec standard throw. Maximum positive engagement — you know it's on safe and you know it's off safe. Preferred for duty, defensive, and hunting builds where accidental disengagement is a real concern. Full positive click in both directions.

Critical For FRT Builds

Why Your Forced Reset Trigger Needs This

Running a forced reset trigger on your AR-15 changes what you need from every other control on the rifle — including your safety. When your FRT is cycling at speeds approaching 1,150 RPM in FRT mode, the ability to get on and off safety instantly isn't a nice-to-have — it's a fundamental part of how you control the rifle. The Odin Works AMS at 45° throw gets your safety disengaged in the same motion as your trigger press, not before it.

The ARC-Fire V2 forced reset trigger from AS Designs — the one built specifically with ambidextrous safety compatibility in mind — pairs directly with the Odin Works AMS. If you're running an ARC-Fire V2, this is the ambi safety selector that was designed with your trigger in mind.

  • Disruptor FRT (The Triggered Company): The AMS 45° throw gives you faster safety transitions to match the Disruptor's rapid cycling capability. Run the paddle in the high position for thumb-on-safety access without breaking your firing grip.
  • ARC-Fire V2 (AS Designs): The ARC-Fire V2 is specifically engineered for ambidextrous safety compatibility. The Odin Works AMS is the natural pairing — full ambi paddle on both sides, 45° throw, positive engagement.
  • Hoffman Tactical Super Safety: The Super Safety system replaces your selector entirely. If you're running a standard safety alongside a Super Safety on a second build, the Odin Works AMS is the ambi upgrade your second rifle deserves.
  • Competition and 3-Gun builds: The 45° throw at the AMS's optimal paddle position is the fastest safe-to-fire transition available on any mil-spec compatible ambi safety. Build for speed without sacrificing positive engagement.

Why Odin Works

The Standard for AR-15 Accessories

🇺🇸
Southern Idaho

Every Odin Works product is designed and machined in Southern Idaho. American engineers, American machines, American metal.

✈️
6061 Aircraft Aluminum

The same alloy used in aircraft structural components. Hard anodized finish penetrates into the metal — it doesn't sit on top of it.

⚙️
8 Configurations

No other mil-spec ambi safety gives you this many setup options. Find your perfect position once — and never think about it again.

🎯
Competition Proven

The 45° throw and enlarged paddles make the Odin Works AMS the go-to safety selector for 3-Gun competitors and speed shooters nationwide.

Installation Notes

Drop-In Mil-Spec Install

  • 01Uses your existing detent and spring. The Odin Works AMS does not include a safety detent or spring — it uses the mil-spec detent and spring already in your lower. If you need a replacement, any mil-spec safety detent kit works.
  • 02Standard mil-spec installation. Remove your existing safety selector and install the AMS exactly the same way. No special tools, no fitting, no modifications to the lower required.
  • 03Choose your throw first. Decide between 45° and 90° before installation by orienting the selector barrel correctly. You can switch later but it's easier to set it before the lower is fully assembled.
  • 04Set your paddle position. After installation, position each paddle lever to your preferred ergonomic angle. The four positions give you fine-tuned control over where each paddle sits relative to your trigger finger and thumb.
  • 05FRT builds — run the 45° throw. If you're running a forced reset trigger, the 45° throw is the correct choice for most shooters. It allows you to engage and disengage the safety within your natural firing grip without repositioning your thumb.
